Fitness is one of the best ways to stop global warming from getting worse. Here’s how..
Jane and I have found that the higher our fitness level the less we drive the car. We ride the bike, we run , or we walk instead. In short we make healthier environmental choices when we are fit.
Granted we can’t always walk to work and you can’t either most of the time, but what about once a week? What about on the weekend, when you drive the car to run errands? How about walking instead?
That is where fitness comes into the picture. You will have to be fit to make those choices work for you.
Dr. George Sheehan, one of my favorite authors said that we should all ‘return to play’ for at least an hour a day. He recommended that we become children for that one hour a day, and that any fitness program that wasn’t designed as ‘play’ was destined to failure.
