Living Off The Grid Today

Thinking back I remember all of the people who told us we were crazy wanting to live off the grid, but look at the state of the world right now. According to studies we have between 5 and 30 years of oil left. (Big differences I know, but some are more conservative than others) Within the last two years 'green' energy has really started to take off... and we couldn't be happier.

This website is the culmination of a dream. A dream to be be free of the electric company forever. It took us a lot of work to make it happen, but we have perfected all of the little details.

In fact, we've been helping all of our friends make the move to living off the grid. It wasn't as hard as they though either. You see, many people have the inkling that making the move to renewable energy is going to cost them tens of thousands of dollars. Well, I guess that's true if you buy all the equipment from an expensive dealer, but along the way we've learned how to build wind generators and solar panels for a fraction of the cost.

I'm also going to debunk the myth that living off the grid means giving up certain comforts. That couldn't be farther from the truth. In the beginning we gave up many comforts yes, but that was by choice. We recommend changing to renewable energy over time while staying grid-tied. Grid-tied means that you are hooked up to the power grid, but also produce your own electricity. This way you can save on your electric bill to re-invest in your renewable energy system.

We've laid out the perfect plan to live off the grid, and just by following it you too can be free of the darned electric company in no time!
